Art as reflection: your unique perspective
When you engage with art, you bring your own story to the experience. My hope is that these blog posts help you feel that art is a reflective and thoughtful work, evolving from the artist in its time. Just as I interpret a subject through my lens, each viewer will see and connect with the piece from their own unique worldview, making the interaction deeply personal and profound. In each piece my focus is to create a conversation between the viewer/s and the art piece. Sometimes we stand and look at a piece of art and can't stop looking at it and talking about it - even if it is because there is something that we don't like about it. When a piece draws one in to a conversation or an emotional experience
Sometimes the viewer is drawn to a piece that sparks a fond memory of a place, person or event. When creating more realistic pieces they are inspired by such events and experiences and these might spark such memories and emotional responses from viewers.

The Scattered Artist's Tour 2026 was a huge success. Thank you to all of you who attended the tour and supported our local artists, including myself. Besides the art, the beautiful day and the spectacular yards of the hosts ensured a full and successful weekend.
I recently hosted our first paint and sip event, "Abstract Art in the Garden". Participants completed an abstract art piece, each unique and original, using acrylic paint on canvas. Their original art was presented and preserved in a variety of ways: unique original art bookmarks, a special original art card, and original art set of coasters. A lovely way to spend an afternoon with the special friends or family in your life. Artist Tip: Spraying your canvas with a little water first and spreading the acrylic paint with a sponge or cloth will give it a smoother finish. Great for larger canvas coverage.
